Water-based Bitumen Protective Coating — Champ variant
Homesure wShield Bitu Champ is a single-component, cold-applied water-based bitumen protective coating for maintenance, refurbishment, damp-proofing and surface protection. It cures to form a continuous protective film with increased flexibility and movement accommodation under suitable application conditions.

Uses:
- Maintenance and refurbishment, damp-proofing and moisture-resistant protective applications on concrete, masonry, metal and wood surfaces
- Protective coating for foundations and substructures in non-structural applications
- External walls and exposed concrete surfaces where a more flexible coating is required

Technical Data
- Smooth, thick black paste
- Solids content: 55 ± 2%
- Viscosity: 50000 – 70000 cP
- Specific gravity: 1.10 ± 0.10
- Crack bridging: ≥ 10 mm
- Tensile strength: 0.80 ± 0.20 MPa
- Elongation at break: > 1300%
- Water permeability (Positive pressure): No water penetration observed under test conditions
- Typical coverage (two-coats): approx. 0.8–1.1 m²/kg, equivalent to approx. 900 microns–1 mm dry film thickness (DFT)
- Touch dry: approx. 30–40 minutes
- Recoat time: approx. 8–10 hours
- Tack free time: approx. 12 hours max.
- Minimum protection: Do not expose to water until adequately cured (typically 48 hours under normal conditions)
- Full cure: Performance develops after complete cure, depending on site conditions, temperature and humidity
- Packaging: 5 kg & 20 kg re-sealable buckets

Health, Safety & Handling
- Follow safe manual handling practices
- Wear suitable PPE, including gloves and eye protection
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes, and ensure adequate ventilation during application and drying
- Do not apply to frozen substrates or surfaces affected by standing water
- Protect freshly applied coating from water until fully cured
- Keep out of reach of children
- Dispose of contents and container in accordance with local authority requirements; avoid discharge into drains, watercourses or soil

Shelf Life & Storage
- Shelf life: 18 months when stored correctly
- Store in original unopened containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place
- Protect from frost, excessive heat and direct sunlight
- Keep containers tightly closed when not in use; reseal opened containers promptly after use
